A god damned hurricane - a Raven fanmix

Shalott - Emilie Autumn.

She looks up to the mirrored glass
She sees a handsome horse and rider pass
She says, ‘That man’s gonna be my death
‘Cause he’s all I ever wanted in my life
And I know he doesn’t know my name
And that all the girls are all the same to him
But still I’ve got to get out of this place
‘Cause I don’t think I can face another night
Where I’m half sick of shadows
And I can’t see the sky
Everyone else can watch as the tide comes in
So why can’t I?'

Thistle & Weeds - Mumford and Sons.

Spare me your judgements and spare me your dreams
Cause recently mine have been tearing my seams
I sit alone in this winter clarity which clouds my mind
Alone in the wind and the rain you left me
It’s getting dark darling, too dark to see
And I’m on my knees, and your faith in shreds, it seems

Corrupted by the simple sniff of riches blown
I know you have felt much more love than you’ve shown
And I’m on my knees and the water creeps to my chest

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don’t cover yourself with thistle and weeds

Many Moons - Janelle Monáe

We’re dancing free but we’re stuck here underground
And everybody trying to figure their way out
Hey hey hey, all we ever wanted to say
Was chased erased and then thrown away
And day to day we live in a daze

We march all around 'til the sun goes down night children
Broken dreams, no sunshine, endless crimes, we long for freedom
You’re free but in your mind, your freedom’s in a bind

Fragile Tension - Depeche Mode.

There’s a fragile tension,
That’s keeping us going
It may not last forever,
But oh well it’s blowing

There’s something magical in the air
Something so tragic we had to care

Rabbit Heart (Raise it Up) - Florence + the Machine.

Here I am, a rabbit hearted girl
Frozen in the headlights
It seems I’ve made the final sacrifice

We raise it up, this offering
We raise it up

This is a gift, it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife?
Midas is king and he holds me so tight
And turns me to gold in the sunlight

Clean - Depeche Mode.

The cleanest I’ve been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I’ve seen

Roll Away Your Stone - Mumford & Sons.

It seems that all my bridges have been burned
But you say, “That’s exactly how this grace thing works”
It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart
But the welcome I receive with every start

Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see

Stars hide your fires
For these here are my desires
And I won’t give them up to you this time around
And so I’ll be found
With my stake stuck in the ground
Marking the territory of this newly impassioned soul

Ophelia - Natalie Merchant.

Ophelia was a circus queen
The female cannonball
Projected through five flaming hoops
To wild and shocked applause

Ophelia was a cyclone, tempest
A god damned hurricane
Your common sense
Your best defense
Lay wasted and in vain

Ophelia’d know your every woe
And pain you’d ever had
She’d sympathize
And dry your eyes
And help you to forget

Download (includes a graphic for every song, which I put on Tumblr, too. Feel free to use 'em if you like, though I appreciate credit!).

Long time no see, huh? Sorry about that. Been spending a lot of time on fic and Tumblr. Anyway! Guess who is now into X-Men and a Mystique stan? ;)

I can't quite be bothered explaining each song even briefly at the moment, but if anyone has any questions I can absolutely answer?

Anyway. Enjoy!

(Since it's habit now- the 'bonus' I didn't include here is the cover of Starlight by the Vitamin String Quartet. Look it up, it's gorgeous. Actually just buy their whole damn Muse tribute if you can. STARS IN MY EYES.)
